The Municipal Solid Waste Plant of San Antonio de Areco gets the authorization from the “OPDS” and it will be able to issue sustainable destination certificates.

The Plant complies with all the safety and hygiene measures and the standardized operating procedures  which were mandatory for the authorization.  Also, it functions as the sustainable destination of all the recyclable waste that it processes, and thus, it closes the stages of the circular economy.

The news has been very welcome, specially by the largest waste generators from the city and the region. After all, because their administrative systems must obtain a waste sustainable destination certificate, this kind of establishments must dump their waste a 100 km away, in some cases: and, thus, it increases the carbon footprint of such waste. The majority of the plant authorized by the Provincial Organization for the Sustainable Development (“OPDS” for its Spanish acronym) are located in the City of Buenos Aires and the Province of Buenos Aires.
