Optimizing the efficiency of the public lighting network


Description of the problem:

In our area, electricity used for public lighting accounts for more than 19% of the total used. This is due to the fact that more than 98% of the luminaires are Sodium and incandescent.

General objective:

To optimize the efficiency of the public lighting network in the Circuito de la Salud and Plaza 25 de Mayo; To minimize the emission of greenhouse gases that derive from public artificial lighting.

Resolution strategy:

Change 200 Sodium and incandescent luminaires for LED systems; this would save more than 5% of the electrical energy used in public lighting.
